He is God made man
His humanity and divinity would have allowed him to have perfect health
He was the perfect human being
He wouldn’t have been swayed by the temptations to sloth or gluttony
He was raised by the perfect mother
A good mother makes sure her son eats well and stays active.
He impressed hard working men
Peter and the other apostles were rough, hard working men. They wouldn’t have dropped everything to follow a marshmallow
He carried the weight of the world
We have all felt the physical toll of stress and anxiety, of our sins and the sins of those we love. He carried the entire world’s problems on his shoulders every day.
He ate the diet of the poor
At the time of his earthly existence the poor ate whole grains, fruits, and lean meats. There simply wasn’t the amount of junk food we have available today. Plus, being poor, he couldn’t afford to eat like many of the rich.
He was raised by a carpenter
Jesus was raised in a home of hard labor and by a man who embodied masculinity.
He walked everywhere he went
Except for the time when he rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, the majority of the time, Jesus walked literally everywhere.
He was cousins with John the Baptist
I know how it is to be around boys. My sons wrestle and fight with each other all the time. Being raised alongside a man like John the Baptist, I am sure Jesus was built to the hilt by way of roughhousing.
