Our Faith

Faith is born of an encounter with the living God who calls us and reveals his love, a love which precedes us and upon which we can lean for security and for building our lives . . . Faith received from God has a supernatural gift, becomes a light for our way, guiding our journey through time.” — Encyclical The Light of Faith, Pope Francis.

As simple as this sounds, our faith is what will help us and our families to build our lives. Home is truly where the heart is, and when faith is the most important part of our lives, it makes the hugest difference not just for us, but for every member of our family.

St. Teresa of Calcutta expressed during her life that if everyone understood the importance of loving to spend time as a family, much sin would be avoided. Faith is an encounter as Pope Francis alludes to.

A Supernatural Gift

Holding onto our Catholic Faith is a supernatural encounter each day to remember that what we believe, and practice is very real. When our kids and our families experience this as well, it makes a profound difference in society not just for people of faith but for everyone.

This is a way to evangelize, and we must all remember that how we act, believe, and build our lives is relevant for all our culture today and always.

As our Holy Father has said, this is what will guide our journey through time which is a precious gift. Let us never take for granted how incredibly special building our life on our faith is every day. We can lean on these facts in a secureness of faith which is the most valuable aspect of who we are in Christ.

Lessons of Faith

Pope Francis has much to say on the topic of spreading the faith to all we meet. The Holy Spirit will accompany us on the way as we recognize the gift. Perhaps this sounds simplistic. The secureness of faith enables us to move forward in efforts to evangelize those who have yet to experience God’s love and the gift of faith available to all.

Take the time to foster faith in your family life through the recognition of it as a gift placed within the heart to be shared with others. This way, the supernatural gift of faith will shine brighter in your heart and can be appreciated in the greatest of ways.

Take aways? Our faith is a gift we should never take for granted. It is supernatural, it is meant to spread, especially to those closest to us, and it is secure in God our Creator.
