2. Being Transfigured This Lent
While an account of the Transfiguration may seem out of place for Lent, the Church chose this reading well. Not only is the Transfiguration typologically related to the Crucifixion but, moreover, there is a reminder of the glory we strive to immitate through our Lenten practices. We mortify our flesh to become more like Christ who sacrificed all out of love. OUr fasting, prayer, and almsgiving can help us to grow in virtue and ultiately to become a reflection of the Christ Peter and the other Apostles saw on that hill.
