2. Who wrote it?
We are not entirely sure, but we know it was written by early Christians for Christians to understand Christianity and live accordingly. Here is a great video explaining some of its origins:
3. When was it written?
Very, very early in the life of the Church. Here is a video from a (much younger) Jimmy Akin, explaining more!
4. Why does it matter?
Even if one does not accept it as authoritative (it was not put in the Bible for example), it is AT LEAST a clear window into what the early Church believed. This tells us a lot of about what Christians believed and how they lived. Here is a great video explaining the importance below:

It is an instructional guide for Christians trying to understand their faith and live their Christianity in the early years of the Church. Find out how it can shape you by reading it or listening to it yourself (don’t worry, it’s really short):
