Here are our top six TV shows that Catholics would love to watch!
1. The Parish Office
Anyone who has ever worked at a Catholic parish will tell you that you meet quite the cast of characters, and the staff at St. Margaret’s is no exception. From the goofy pastor to the super serious parochial vicar to the musical coordinator who just can’t seem to please anybody to the secretary who really runs the parish, it’s non-stop laughter in this mockumentary-style sitcom.
This is a no-brainer. A lot of people have had this idea. I cannot remember when I first came up with this idea, but I had it a long time ago. Back in February, Tommy Tighe tweeted this idea. Actor/Writer Kathleen Jones has apparently written a script for a pilot episode.

2. Father Brown
Unlike the modern BBC adaptation of Father Brown, this adaptation of the famous G.K. Chesterton detective stories is actually faithful to the original stories and does not just borrow names and slight plot details. This adaptation is like the BBC’s adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories in that it cleverly reinvents plot details to suit a modern-take on a timeless classic.

3. Sketch Comedy
Hey, if the Mormons can do it, why can’t the Catholics?

4. The Holy Family
To everyone at Saint Boniface Parish, the O’Farrells seem like the perfect family. However, their life at home could not be more chaotic. The patriarch of the family likes whiskey. . . A LOT. The two oldest sons share a room, and one is addicted to pornography while the other is gay. The daughter spends more time at her boyfriend’s house than at her own home, especially at night. The mother struggles to hide her husband’s and her oldest children’s issues from her youngest two children and get their family in the pew on time every Sunday while barely managing to control her own bipolar disorder.

5. The Crusades
Catholicism’s answer to Game of Thrones. This historical drama portrays the true nature of The Crusades–the good, the bad, and the ugly. This compelling drama features knights fighting both the enemy and temptation on a weekly basis, and no one sees the plot twists coming.

6. The Chancery
The West Wing has nothing on the drama of The Chancery. In this brutally honest look at how a diocese operates, scandals occur on a regular basis, rumors spread like wildfire, and the Bishop tries to keep his staff under control.
