Vatican City – The Vatican announced that Pope Francis will be visiting Chile and Peru in 2018. The Vatican begin to plan the pontifical visit after accepting official invitations from the heads of state and local bishops,
The Pope will be in Chile from January 15 – 18. He will then travel to Peru, where he will stay until January 21. During the trip, Pope Francis will visits Santiago, Lima, Temuoc, Iquique, Puerto Maldonado and Trujillo.
Pope Francis started his pontificate four years ago, and has since visited Brazil, Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Cuba and Mexico. He has not made a visit to his home country of Argentina yet.
