250 Bicyclists took to the streets this past week to tour the Catholic Churches of Detroit and the Sacred Art each Church holds.
Organizers of the event weren’t sure they would get a good response with the reputation Detroit has earned itself. They told themselves that if 50 people participated in the event, they would consider it a success. 250 cyclists in, they couldn’t have been more excited.
“It’s about hospitality” said Pastor Loren Connell of St. Aloysius Church when asked his motives in participating in the tour. St. Aloysius was the second of the five churches visited by the cyclists.
SS Peter & Paul Jesuit Church thanked those who participated in the event on their facebook page with the hashtag #holyrollin.
