The Catholic Home Gallery: Eighteen Works of Art by Contemporary Catholic Artists is by far one of the best books I have come across to jumpstart or add to your sacred art collection. Every page is printed in extremely high quality that makes it worthy of framing and making a focal point in your home.
I don’t know when the last time I was compelled to share the back cover of a book was, but this one is definitely worth the look! I love the variety of styles, color, mediums, simplicity and detail in this collection.
So many pictures of Joseph depict him as quiet, peaceful… downright sleepy. And maybe he was all of those things. But let’s not overlook the roll he took on as the protector, guide and provider for Mary and our Lord. I love the strength and action in this print.
Each piece comes with an explanation from the artist about the work as well as a short blip to introduce you to them. Genius, I love that I get to use this as a book in our art class.
I especially love the St. Benedict and St. Scholastica prints because my kids immediately recognized these as beautifully framed and hung in the Monastery of the Benedictine’s in Norcia, Italy.
This would make a lovely housewarming gift, or just a gift for any occasion really. I think this is one that I will be getting several to keep on hand for future gifts. You can order your own copies by clicking here!
