It’s almost the end of the year of Saint Joseph. Have you started on your to-do list of things to introduce the children in your life to him? Are you overwhelmed, and find that to-do list a little difficult? Have I go the easy button for you!

First, if you don’t have a Saint Joseph statue to display, grab your nativity set Joseph- it’s practically Advent anyway right? Or any department store will already have their nativities up on the shelves already. Best option, support your local catholic book store or small business.

Second, grab this book!

It is beautiful and so full of resources! Organized into three parts, you’ll learn who Saint Joseph is, what we can learn and apply to our own lives from him, and prayers/novenas as well as modern day stories of Saint Joseph.

There are beautiful pictures that the kids can’t wait to hear- but not so many that they can’t use their own imaginations to consider what we are learning. Recommended for ages seven and up, it was very easily adapted or explained to keep the attention of my preschooler and kindergartener as well. In fact my kindergartener has been holding it as his personal prayer book and makes sure we are keeping up with our novena as we’ve been reading. We made a paper chain to keep track of the nine days and he is excited to complete his first full novena!

This is a fabulous book and a great starting point to introduce the children in your life to Saint Joseph. Emphasizing his character and humanity in every section, you’ll find so many topics that you can point towards through regular every day situations as well as the extreme circumstances life throws our way.
